The historic towns of San Javier & Los Alcazares date back to the 16th century and are very popular with the tourists for their extensive cultural, leisure and shopping facilities. The nearest Airport is Murcia (San Javier) aprox 5 mins drive and cheap flights can be found from most UK airports – Jet2, Ryanair, Monarch etc. offer reasonable rates to Murcia. Most airlines also fly to Alicante which is about 45 mins drive away.

The nearby cities of Cartagena and Murcia offer the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the big city with bars, restaurants and shops.

As almost everyone knows the Mar Menor is a paradise for sunbathing and water sports to be enjoyed all year round. Los Alcazares and Los Narejos are typical Spanish towns located on the shores of the Mar Menor and a 3 min drive or 20-30 min walk from the apartment. They boast beautiful blue flag beaches and an attractive 7k promenade dotted with numerous beach front bars.

For families with small children the clean sandy beach is very safe, with shallow water and little tide. It offers a wide choice of activities including water sports, boat trips, go karts and cycle hire. For the golf enthusiast there are over 10 excellent golf courses running from nearby La Manga right up to Alicante, four of them of international standard.

Los Alcazares holds two weekly markets and several annual festivals. Los Alcazares is within easy access of Murcia City an historic Moorish city, famous for it's architecture and history as well as it's excellent shops, bars, restaurants and theatres; and Cartagena renowned for it's beautiful bay and harbour side fish restaurants is a 15 minute drive away.

Coast/Beach - The wonderful Beach which stretches all around the Mar Menor is only 3 minute drive from Roda. Ideal for all watersports and safe for swimming, very child friendly. Many beachside bars and restaurants along the promenade.

The Club de Golf Altorreal golf course, designed by Dave Thomas (one of the UK top golfers in the 1950'2 and 60's who has designed a number of courses around the world) and built in 1994, is situated approximately 12Km north of Murcia city.
The course is 1 Km from the A-30 motorway and 6 Km from the E-15/A-7 motorway.
The course has 18 holes.

Hacienda del Alamo Golf Course, Murcia, South East Spain
Designed by Dave Thomas (a leading UK golfer of the 1950's ne 60's) and built in 2004, the Hacienda del Alamo golf course is part of a complex situated just north of Fuente Alamo, approximately 20 Km from the Costa Calida coastline.
The course has 18 hole.

La Manga Club Golf Course, Murcia, South East Spain
La Manga Club has 3 separate and different championship standard golf courses, the North and South courses designed by Robert D. Putman (a renowned Californian golfer), and the West course designed by DaveThomas (a top UK golfer of the 1950's and 60's).
The first course was built in 1971 and the Spanish Open was held here for 5 years in the 70's.
La Manga Club is situated just south of the Mar Menor on the Costa Calida.
The course has 3x18 holes.

Mosa Trajectrum Golf Course, Murcia, South East Spain
Mosa Trajectrum golf course is located in a new developmentapproximately 15Km south of the city of Murcia and 25 Km from the Costa Calida.
The championship standard course has been designed as 3 separate 9 hole courses, each with a different terrain and character.

Roda Golf Course, Murcia, South East Spain
Designed by Dave Thomas (a top UK golfer of the 1950's and 60's) and built as part of a new development just a couple of Km west of the Mar Menor on the Murcia Costa Calida Coastline.
The course design includes 3 strategically postitioned lakes and a high emphasis has been placed on landscaping and tree planting.
Roda also has a driving range and putting green.
